This started with one little girl’s skin. It
became a movement.
My daughter was born with eczema. The first time I saw her scratching until she bled, I did what every mother does — I went to the doctor. They told me it was dry skin. They handed me a list of moisturizers none of which were made for skin like hers. I bought everything. I tried everything. Nothing worked the way it should. And every time a product failed, I watched her suffer through another flare, another round of dark patches that took months to fade. I’m Haitian. I grew up knowing that mainstream medicine and mainstream skincare were not built with us in mind. So when the market failed my daughter, I didn’t wait for someone else to fix it. I built Kiyamel. Every product we make starts with one question: does this actually work for melanated skin? Not ‘sensitive skin’ in the generic sense.
